DESCRIPTION OF NEWFIELD INN

Well away from the main tourist trails of England's Lake District, the Newfield Inn overs a quiet sanctuary for the serious outdoor enthusiast enjoying the Coniston Fells.

Situated in Wordsworth's favourite valley, this 17th-century free house is popular with walkers and climbers. The Newfield Inn is a family-owned establishment offering a good range of cask ales from Theakstons, Jennings and the Coniston Brewery and a wide selection of malt whiskies and spirits.

You will find a well preserved country pub with accommodation, beer garden and open fire. Perhaps the most striking feature of the Newfield Inn is it's unique slate floor. The dark and light banding of the slate was a result of the ignious rock being extruded under great pressure during volcanic eruptions some 450 million years ago. Hewn from the Coniston slate quarrries, the rock was cut then polished to highlight it's qualities before being laid down in the Newfield Inn.

Accommodation
The Newfield Inn has two, spacious self-catering flats that can be rented for anything from a single night's stay to a longer holiday. The top flat has two bedrooms, ideal for a couple with two children, bathroom, storage and living room with kitchen facilities.

PRICE

Prices for the flats start from £20:00 per night for the downstairs flat and £30:00 per night for the top flat.
