DESCRIPTION OF SHOSHIN KARATE

The club was opened on January 12 2004 by instructor, Stephen Irwin, who has over 19 years experience in martial arts including more than 10 years instructing. There's plenty of countryside as well as sandy beaches and coastal woodland in which to train (if you don't mind being stared at!)

About Our Karate The system of karate that we practice is Wado Ryu, the Way of Peace school developed by Hironori Ohtsuka. Our syllabus is designed to take you through all the essential skills and principles of karate before introducing you to the classical techniques of wado. Our training methods are all practical - there's not wasting time with meaningless abstract movements or endless repetition of basics without knowing exactly what each movement is for. The emphasis is on self defence applications, although individuals who wish to compete are free to do so.

OPENING HOURS

Children's class - 6:35pm to 7:20pm ages 7+.
Adults' Training is 7:25pm to 8:30pm
