DESCRIPTION OF BLUE BADGER TOURS

The company's aim is to combine the sheer beauty of the Lake District landscape with the history which lies within the area's many magnificent buildings and quaint villages. By offering guided walks and luxury tours, we hope to share our enthusiasm for one of the most idyllic areas in the country at a price which is surprisingly affordable.

Blue Badger Tours are owned and operated by Tom McCafferty - a Cumbrian who has recently retired from the County's Police Force after 28 years of service. Those years have helped Tom to acquire a tremendous knowledge of the Lake District, its people, places and its history.

Tom has undergone the intensive training programme in order to gain the coveted qualifications of Registered Blue Badge Guide and Driver Guide. His training with the Police Force, Fell Rescue Service and of course the Blue Badge Organisation equip him for all aspects of guiding.

He is based in Millom in the South West of the county but his exceptional knowledge of the whole of the Lake District allow him to guide wherever visitors wish to go.
