Coniston Water and Lake Windermere are only a few miles away. Both offer attractions, which should appeal to anyone. Visit South Lakes Wildlife Park, 15-20 minutes' drive, The Aquarium of the Lakes, Fell Foot Park (NT), Stott Park Bobbin Mill, Grizedale Forest Park, and ride on the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway. Enjoy walks in the surrounding countryside. The River Crake runs near the cottage and there are two country inns within a few minutes walk.
